SignED: Inclusive Sex Education for the Deaf Community

Free Periods Hong Kong is committed to advancing menstrual equity and health education across the community. Through advocacy, education, and resource distribution, we work to end period poverty and promote open, inclusive conversations about menstrual and reproductive health, with a special focus on reaching underserved populations.

Deaf Classroom Hong Kong connects the Deaf community and society through activities on self-advocacy, legal awareness, mental health, and gender/sexuality education, promoting mutual learning, civic awareness, social participation, and empowerment for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

Empowering through accessible knowledge – bridging gaps in health literacy for social inclusion.

The Project:

  • The project goal is to address critical gaps in sexuality and gender education for the Deaf community in Hong Kong, empowering Deaf individuals with essential knowledge, enhancing personal autonomy and health awareness, and encouraging active community engagement.
  • Through a comprehensive needs assessment, interactive workshops conducted in Hong Kong Sign Language, and a post-programme publication, they will cover essential topics like sexual health, menstrual health, boundary-setting, and consent to foster personal autonomy, community engagement, and long-term sustainable social development.

Closing the Data Gap: Developing a Framework for Measuring Inclusion in Hong Kong

Resolve Foundation is an award-winning section-88 charity dedicated to empowering changemakers. We envision a Hong Kong where everyone belongs & upholds inclusion. Our programs include our signature Fellowship for diverse emerging leaders, pilot schools program, participatory seed grants and workplace training.

The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) is a global network of social impact experts dedicated to driving social change. With 17+ years of experience, TSIC has supported 500+ clients worldwide by providing social impact research, evaluation frameworks, strategy and impact measurement, including DEI expertise.

The Project: 

  • The project will develop a standardized framework for measuring social inclusion in Hong Kong that is intersectional across aspects and themes — such as representation, diversity, socioeconomic status — more broadly than thematic indices usually conducted.
  • By creating a practical open source tool, designed with ecosystem inputs, they aim to help organisations promoting social inclusion better understand change over time, improve program design, and strengthen the evidence base for advancing inclusion in Hong Kong and beyond.

Dream2Story: The Foundry Programme

Dream2Story is a social incubator. They believe tertiary education is neither the definition of nor the only pathway to success. They aim to promote social mobility through being the illustrator and navigator for the alternative social ladder that we believe already exists. They focus on talented youngsters whose talent and/or social background do not lend themselves easily or naturally to the traditional social ladder via tertiary education.

The Project:

  • Social Incubator of Dreams: They promote social mobility for under-resourced youth by supporting their transition from school to work.
  • Vision & Mission: They envision a Hong Kong where every young person can realise their potential and achieve success, regardless of background.
  • To address gaps in resources and opportunities, they provide connected Information to expand access to opportunities, Build a community of like-minded and skilled volunteers offering lasting mentorship, Cultivate an ecosystem of partners dedicated to empowering youth with sector-specific guidance.
  • Their partnership with Concordia Lutheran School – North Point has empowered 24 local and ethnically diverse students from underserved “hidden need” backgrounds—often overlooked by traditional support systems—by equipping them with life skills through business-led case competitions, internships, and hands-on experience, transforming them into confident, forward-looking innovators ready to shape their own futures.
